Use of bioactive compounds from seafood
An Andalusian Fisheries organization seeks to develop techniques for the use of bioactive compounds present in seafood and its byproducts in biomedical, nutraceutical, cosmetics etc. This organization is interested in signing agreements for technical cooperation with companies and research groups.
This entity is looking for technology for the use of bioactive compounds present in seafood and its byproducts in biomedical, nutraceutical, development of functional foods, cosmetics, etc. The aim is to generate greater added value in the fisheries sector through the development of new products, responding to public demands, increasingly interested in health-promoting role played by some specific foods, thanks to the physiological activity of certain compounds (omega-3, for example) or making use of byproducts and wastes, such as chitosan derived from chitin found in crustacean wastes. These techniques should be implementable in the fishing industry on the Andalusian coast, demonstrating their technical and economical feasibility.Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:Adaptability to the Andalusian fishing sector.
